Why we built CivilProposals
Last updated: August 2026
CivilProposals came out of years spent preparing engineering proposals, fee proposals and tender submissions.
Too much of that time went into repetitive administrative work -- reformatting the same content for a different template, rebuilding the same compliance tables from scratch, chasing down the same boilerplate paragraphs project after project.
We think engineers should spend more of their week solving engineering problems, and less of it formatting documents.
Proposal preparation should be assisted by software, not handed over to it. Engineering judgement stays with the engineer -- CivilProposals drafts and organises, it doesn't decide.
That isn't boilerplate. Where CivilProposals can't substantiate something -- a figure, a claim, a fact it wasn't given -- it flags it in red rather than inventing it, and leaves the decision to you.
Generic AI writing tools don't understand how a tender is actually structured, so we built something that does.
